The rental costs below are for the whole Domaine. The rent includes all services except telephone charges and heating in the cooler months.

The Domaine des Bartavelles is located on the edge of Les Taillades, in the Parc Naturel du Luberon, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty in southern Provence bounded to the north by the Vaucluse plateau and to the south by the Grand and Petit Luberon mountains.

Les Taillades is situated towards the western end of the Luberon valley about 15 minutes drive from the town of Cavaillon. There are local restaurants and shops nearby, tennis courts within 10km, riding within 1km, and golf within 12 km. There are many good restaurants in the area. Some of the best Cotes de Ventoux and Cotes du Luberon wine of the area can be bought direct from the nearby local viticulteurs.

Further afield, the attractions of Avignon, Aix, St. Remy, Nimes, Orange and Arles are all within easy exploring distance with the beaches of the Cote d'Azur and the Camargue accessible within around 2 hours via the Autoroute. The nearest airport is Marseille - approximately one hours drive from Les Taillades. Drive time from the channel ports 10-12 hours.

The House

The Domaine is a large 18 th century provencal mas beautifully restored and divided into two separate houses, La Maison de Maitre and La Bastide. The houses can be rented individually or as a whole for one large party or two separate families holidaying together. The property as a whole sleeps up to 16 people across the two houses. The Domaine has a large garden of 4 acres which is completely private. There are plenty of pleasant sitting out areas and chairs and tables are provided for eating out.

The 6 x 12m swimming pool is shared by the two houses and iis surrounded by a landscaped area with lots of sunbathing space and pool loungers.

The largest of the houses is La Maison de Maitre which has four bedrooms - two master twin bedrooms, each ensuite with bath, shower, double sink and toilet and two double bedrooms both ensuite with shower and sink. Addional sleeping accommodation can be arranged on request in the mezzanine areas of the two master bedrooms. Downstairs the large living room is beautifully furnished and has satellite TV and broadband internet access. The large kitchen room is exceptionally well equipped including an American fridge and has a large convivial dining table. There is a separate laundry room. The house is south facing and there are three outdoor terraces and independent parking.

La Bastide is a single storey house and has three charming bedrooms, two with twin beds and one double with en-suite shower. There is a family bathroom with bath, shower and basin and additionally there is also a separate toilet. The house has a large amount of living space with a large living/dining room and fully fitted kitchen open kitchen. The living room leads out onto the 8x4m terrace overlooking the garden and pool. Each of the houses is independent from each other and has their own shady terraces. The houses are decorated in typical charming provencal style and have warm terracotta tiled floors and exposed beams. Linen and towels are included and a cleaning service for the end of your stay. A cleaning lady can be arranged if you would like a mid stay clean and the owner of Domaine des Bartavelles also offers a chef and babysitting service by prior arrangement.

Booking Conditions

We ask for half the rent at the time of booking and the balance six weeks before the start of your holiday. If booking is within 6 weeks of arrival we require full payment at the time of booking. A returnable damages deposit of £1000 is also payable at time of final payment. This is refunded after your departure once the house has been checked. All telephone charges, breakage's, etc. will be made against the deposit and the balance returned to you. Bookings are from Saturday to Saturday. In order to clean and check the house we ask guests to arrive between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. and to leave at 9.00 a.m. on the day of departure.

In case of cancellation, the reservation deposit will be retained unless we can re-let or the whole payment if six weeks or less before the start of your intended stay. If we can re-let our additional expenditure, including advertising, will be deducted and the rest returned to you. We would therefore strongly advise you to take out holiday insurance which covers cancellation. This is widely available, for example from airlines, ferry companies, and the AA.
