La Maison Claire is a comfortable provencal villa with a pretty garden and private pool located in the charming medieval village of CabriÈres at the western end of the Luberon Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty in southern Provence.

The house is in a tranquil location right in the village, and just a short drive from the stunning village of Gordes. CabriÈres has an excellent boulangerie, grocery shop, butcher and good local restaurant. Well placed for exploring the Luberon valley and its delightful perched villages, this house is also very well located for excursions further afield to Avignon, Orange, St. Remy and Arles.

The House

La Maison Claire is a single storey villa with spacious, light and sunny rooms. Well cared for by its Swiss owners and decorated in traditional provencal style, the house also has lots of good outdoor living space in the enclosed garden.

The house has two bedrooms comfortably sleeping 4 people. The light and airy double aspect living room overlooks the garden and has an open fireplace. The spacious dining room, also with an open fireplace, leads off the kitchen and opens out onto the outdoor side outdoor terrace overlooking the garden. A television and DVD player is provided for entertainment. The television has French channels only. The house also has a wifi internet connection.

The kitchen opens out onto the outdoor terrace overlooking the pool. Well equipped, the kitchen has a dishwasher, fridge freezer, electric oven and hob. There is a washing machine and ironing board.

The house sleeps up to 4 people in two bedrooms, both pleasantly furnished and both light and airy. The double bedroom faces south and overlooks the garden and has a standard 140 double bed. The twin bedroom faces to the side of the house and has two single beds. There is a separate shower room and a separate WC in the entrance hall.

The house is south facing with one covered terrace overlooking the garden and pool and another leading off the dining room and kitchen overlooking a quiet corner of the garden. This terrace is covered by a cane pergola which cascades with flower in the spring and early summer. The swimming pool is 8x4m and is surrounded by a paved area and lawn. The enclosed garden is planted with flowering shrubs and has plenty of sunbathing space and shady nooks under the olive and oak trees for relaxing summer days. Sun loungers and a parasol are provided for shade. The garden to one side overlooks a small olive grove which gives a very peaceful ambience to the property.

There is private parking. Bed linen and towels are provided and also a cleaner for the end of your stay. Please bring your own pool towels.

La Maison Claire is a comfortable provencal home in a quiet village location with good outdoor living space and a lovely pool for a relaxing holiday, but also very well located for exploring the Luberon area and further afield.

Booking Conditions

We are very conscious of safety and the potential hazard of swimming pools for young children, for this reason we do not accept bookings from families with children under five.

We ask for half the rent at the time of booking and the balance six weeks before the start of your holiday. If booking is within 6 weeks of arrival we require full payment at the time of booking. A returnable damages deposit of £300 is also payable at time of final payment. This is refunded after your departure once the house has been checked. All telephone charges, breakage's, etc. will be made against the deposit and the balance returned to you. Bookings are from Saturday to Saturday. In order to have time to check the house, change beds, clean the pool and tidy the garden etc. we ask guests to arrive between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. and to leave at 10.00 a.m. on the day of departure.

In case of cancellation, the reservation deposit will be retained unless we can re-let or the whole payment if six weeks or less before the start of your intended stay. If we can re-let our additional expenditure, including advertising, will be deducted and the rest returned to you. We would therefore strongly advise you to take out holiday insurance which covers cancellation. This is widely available, for example from price comparison sites, airlines, ferry companies, and the AA.
