The rent includes all services including heating in the cooler months and including a cleaning service at the end of your stay. Additional cleaning and baby sitting can be arranged during your for an extra charge if required.

The house is situated just five minutes drive from the centre of St. Remy, a delightful old market town in the heart of the Alpilles area of Provence. The lovely old town centre has pretty streets, delightful shops and quiet squares and the lively boulevard surrounding the centre offers a great choice of lively cafes and restaurants. The whole area is rich in history. The ancient Roman town of 'Glanum', the St. Paul Mausoleum from where Van Gogh produced many of his paintings of the region, and the beautiful Alpilles mountains are a short drive away. Pine forests, olive groves and vineyards provide the quintessential provencal landscape. The historic cities of Avignon, Arles, Nimes and Aix en Provence are within easy exploring distance. The UNESCO world heritage site of the Pont du Gard, the perched villages of the Parc Naturel du Luberon and the Camargue are also very close as is the Mediterranean sea - within an hours drive. There is also range of sports and activities available in the area including walking, golf, tennis and horse riding.
Mas du Pieou is a recently built house constructed in traditional style and situated in a quiet location on the outskirts of the town with a south facing garden and lovely views of the Alpilles mountains. The house has private off street parking and a pretty garden planted with lavender, rosemary and olive trees.
The house is very well equipped with all modern comforts and is very light and airy. There is a large and well fitted open kitchen with large American style fridge freezer, electric oven & hob, microwave and dishwasher. There is a separate laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer. A dining area adjoins the kitchen and leads through to the open plan living area with cosy sofas for relaxing around the large provençal open fireplace. All the downstairs rooms lead out onto the south facing terrace.
There are four bedrooms. On the ground floor there is a double bedroom (140 cm bed) with ensuite shower room with a tiled "italian" shower. This bedroom opens directly out on to the south facing terrace. Upstairs there are three further bedrooms with wooden floors which give a warm and welcoming aspect. The upstairs bedrooms comprise two doubles (180 cm bed) with en suite shower room with tiled ‘italian’ shower and WC, and one twin bedroom. There is a bathroom with separate wc.
The l0 x 5 metre swimming pool is all one depth (1.5 m) and has lovely views across the garden to the Alpilles mountains beyond. Loungers are provided. The large terrace at the front of the house is shaded by a pergola and there is a further covered terrace off the kitchen with a wood fired bbq for which wood is provided.
The house has a CD Hifi, DVD and video and plasma screen television (French channels only) for entertainment. There is also a broadband internet connection. Bedlinen and towels are provided (except pool towels) and the house has full under floor central heating for the cooler months.
The Mas du Pieou is a very comfortable house in a quiet location just a few minutes drive from charming St. Remy. A lovely place to just relax or use as a base to explore the olive growing area of the Alpilles.
We ask for half the rent at the time of booking and the balance six weeks before the start of your holiday. If booking is within 6 weeks of arrival we require full payment at the time of booking. We also require a £500 deposit against damages and is payable at the same time as the final holiday payment. All telephone charges, breakage's, etc. will be made against the deposit and the balance returned to you. Bookings are from Saturday to Saturday. In order to clean and check the house we ask guests to arrive between after 4 p.m. and to leave before 10.00 a.m. on the day of departure.
In case of cancellation, the reservation deposit will be retained unless we can re-let or the whole payment if six weeks or less before the start of your intended stay. If we can re-let our additional expenditure, including advertising, will be deducted and the rest returned to you. We would therefore strongly advise you to take out holiday insurance which covers cancellation. This is widely available, for example from airlines, ferry companies, and the AA.
