La Jas de St Hilaire is situated in the peaceful countryside between the villages of Menerbes and Lacoste in the heart of the Parc Naturel du Luberon. The lovely perched villages of Menerbes and Lacoste are close by for local shops and restaurants and the towns of Apt and Cavaillon are just a short drive away with bigger supermarkets and shops. The house is ideally located for exploring this lovely area of southern Provence with its pretty perched villages and beautiful countryside.

The House

Le Jas de St. Hilaire is an attractive elegant stone built house in a large enclosed and gated garden of oaks and pines and has its own private pool.

The property has been prettily furnished throughout and has a large well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, fridge, oven and microwave. There is a washer/dryer and freezer in a separate utility room. The kitchen leads into the open plan living/dining room which opens out directly onto the large terrace with shady pergola and charming fountain. The house has full central heating and a wood burning stove in the fireplace in the living room for the cooler months.

There are two large double bedrooms, each with a double bed and both open out onto the shady terrace overlooking the pool. One of the double bedrooms is ensuite with Italian shower and wc.. The third bedroom has two single beds and a third bed for a child and overlooks the garden. There is a separate bathroom equipped with an Italian shower, bath and wc. There is a third separate wc.

The south facing 9x4.5m swimming pool is reached by wide stone steps and is surrounded by a grassy area for sunbathing and shady areas under the trees. Sun loungers are provided as well as a table and chairs for outdoor dining on the large terrace surrounded by pretty raised flower beds. The pool is fenced for security.

The house has a television and DVD player for entertainment, a bbq, ping pong table and bicycles for the guests. Linen and towels are included together with a cleaning service on departure. The house has broadband internet access.

Please note bookings during July and August are on a fortnightly basis only. Please note also that the owner of this property does not allow animals or accept bookings from families with children under 12.

Booking Conditions

If you are considering renting the house outside of these dates please contact us to discuss availability and cost.

We ask for half the rent at the time of booking and the balance six weeks before the start of your holiday. If booking is within 6 weeks of arrival we require full payment at the time of booking.  A returnable damages deposit of £500 is also payable at time of final payment. This is refunded after your departure once the house has been checked. Bookings are from Saturday to Saturday.  In order to clean and check the house we ask guests to arrive after 17.00 p.m. and to leave by 10.00 a.m. on the day of departure.

In case of cancellation, the reservation deposit will be retained unless we can re-let or the whole payment if six weeks or less before the start of your intended stay. If we can re-let our additional expenditure, including advertising, will be deducted and the rest returned to you. We would therefore strongly advise you to take out holiday insurance which covers cancellation. This is widely available, for example from airlines, ferry companies, and the AA.
